Bernie Sleeps During Memorial Day Ceremony

BS sleeping

It’s hard to figure out which is most disturbing. Is it the fact that a 74 year-old candidate for the Presidency cannot stay awake during the day, which implies he cannot manage his time effectively enough to have energy during the day, or worse, does not have the energy required to stay awake?

Or is it the fact that a candidate for the office of Commander-in-Chief sleeps during a Memorial Day ceremony, when Americans remember service men and women who gave their lives for this country?

Or is the fact that this individual skipped out on the draft when those Americans gave their lives, and now dozes off during ceremonies to recall their sacrifice? And while he dozes, two veterans stand – still serving – still respectful – still honorable.

Perhaps it is the enraging disrespect that this candidate shows for the family of lost ones, and for the military of this country, both active and retired.

One wonders if he slept through his time as the former chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs.

What is also distressing is that those who believe in Bernie Sanders and so passionately want him as their President have not come to grips with the fact that he is an old man. He is an old man who shows by this photograph alone that he would be incapable of managing the affairs of this country. He would be unable to withstand duress, the demand of long hours and arduous work day after day after day.

More significantly, were he to ever reach that high honor of the Presidency (a possibility akin to pigs flying), he would have the disdain of every single military service personnel from the lowest rank to the highest, serving on his Cabinet, along with their families.

What we do know is seen in the photo above. Hillary Clinton not only attended a Memorial Day ceremony today, she stayed awake. And not only did she stay awake, she marched in the parade, flanked by her spouse, former President Bill Clinton, the Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo and a decorated Navy officer walking at her side.

Say what you like about your candidate. But this photograph of Sanders sleeping eclipses all other critiques of him as an individual, as a politician and as a candidate for the highest office in this country. It screams NO NO NO!

  1. As a military man Such utter disrespect for my service by Bernie Saunders. There is such a deep feeling of pride when I see my comrades on parade it thrills the soul but Bernie has no soul and no feeling for us who served

  2. WHY are the other media giving the old vommie a pass on this. It is disrespectful and shows contempt for those who died, ad well as raising critical questions about his physical ability to do the job he is running for. If the Russians are invading Ukraine, there really won’t be time to take naps.

  3. I wasn’t sure about this, but it is also on a number of other websites, including the detestable Breitbart. It’s not just some intraparty ploy. And yes, if Hillary did it OMG she’d be, as one commenter put it, “crucified.” The double standard is alive and well in the U.S., and if I share this to my page I’ll have the dogs at me again. Criticizing Bernie Sanders in this race is like pointing out when a parent does the same thing they criticize you for — not only do they consider it invalid, they get mad at you for it. 😦

  4. I really wonder if he was sleeping. Perhaps he was just thinking about what the blazes he’s doing. I wonder when the re-election time comes around in early 2018, has he burned a few bridges? Does he ever consider what consequences may possibly surface?
