Yesterday, Hillary Clinton posed a series of 20 Questions for GOP nominee Donald J. Trump following a revelatory Newsweek article by Kurt Eichenwald.
The cover story, dated 14 September and titled “How The Trump Organization’s Foreign Business Ties Could Upend U.S. National Security,” carries enough gravity to stop American voters in their tracks. The in depth investigation by Eichenwald reveals a web of foreign players enriching the Trump empire and posing significant conflicts – and threats – to the national security of the United States. The article rests upon this premise:
If Trump moves into the White House and his family continues to receive any benefit from the company, during or even after his presidency, almost every foreign policy decision he makes will raise serious conflicts of interest and ethical quagmires.
Clinton responded with a tweetstorn of succinct and pointed questions directed at Trump (below). She covers everything from pay-to-play on an international level to the nature of his children’s visits to foreign countries during the campaign, to Trump’s hidden tax returns, Russian mob bosses, secretive contracts with known and unknown foreign players, his stance on NATO and his relationships with Russian oligarchs.
What is deplorable in this Presidential campaign is that only one national media outlet and a single journalist has seriously explored Trump’s international ties, and their potential effect on the security of the United States were he to become President.
With less than two months before the General Election, this blatant disregard by the media qualifies as misfeasance, and calls into question the allegiance of mainstream media outlets such as CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC and CBS.
There’s no evidence Trump has responded to any of Clinton’s 20 Questions.
In light of @kurteichenwald‘s report on the Trump Organization’s dangerous ties, here are 20 questions that Trump needs to answer—now.

— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) September 14, 2016
20. It’s pretty clear: Trump’s spent his life unscrupulously looking out for his own wallet above all. Why would that change as president?
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) September 14, 2016
“With less than two months before the General Election, this blatant disregard by the media qualifies as misfeasance, and calls into question the allegiance of mainstream media outlets such as CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC and CBS.”
Of course. And we’ve seen this behavior before, back in 2000, 2003, and 2004, and far too many times since then. But this year it’s now out in the open, thanks to their fluffing of Trump.
They think this is a goddamned game and it’s for ratings. They’re wrong–lives are at stake and they seem to ignore the fact that Trump hates the media.
