Donald Trump, Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, is blocking U.S. veterans en masse from his Twitter account.
This blatant breach of loyalty began early today when the organization, VoteVets, posted the following:

The organization self describes itself as “the largest progressive group of veterans in America,” and is the collective voice of half a million veterans, military families and civilian support organizations.
The action by Trump came a day after Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, a retired general, refused to join in the full-throated praise party of the Trump Cabinet. While other top level administration chiefs fawned over Trump, Mattis refused to participate. Rather than extolling Trump, Mattis kept his remarks focused on the service of the American armed services.
“Mr. President, it’s an honor to represent the men and women of the Department of Defense, and we are grateful for the sacrifices our people are making in order to strengthen our military so our diplomats always negotiate from a position of strength,” Mr. Mattis said as Mr. Trump sat, stern-faced.

It appears that the president is retaliating against Mattis by his block of the military organization. This pettiness might be expected from an adolescent. But for the President of the United States it is a dishonor. It is an additional badge of shame that amplifies his previous insults to Gold Star families, the disgraceful Purple Heart comment and the infamous disdain for POWs. These insults inflict particular pain for active duty soldiers in Afghanistan, who recently lost six combatants. Trump has yet to acknowledge their deaths.
