The Manafort Evidence

Special Council Robert Mueller (Jonathan Ernst/Reuters)

If people question why the Mueller investigation is taking so long, consider the evidence in the trial of Paul Manafort. The Special Counsel has tediously sought out, reviewed, filtered and assembled a whopping 436 trial exhibits.

Mueller and his team are nothing if not thorough. His prosecution of the former campaign manager for Donald Trump is based on the factual heft of these items. They center around the defendant and show transactions, mortgages, purchases. They include email chains dating to 2010, invoices for pricey personal purchases, bank records, photos of Manafort properties, passports, years of telephone records and charts – lots of charts detailing bank documents, offshore accounts, payments and vendor records. Altogether, they weave a case for convicting Manafort of federal crimes that include perjury, money laundering, conspiracy against the United States and illegally acting as a representative of a foreign power.

Here is that massive list of exhibits facing defendant Paul Manafort, Jr.
