The Sounds of Silence

Enjoy it while you can. The silence will not last long.

The last peep out of the Trump family on this historic day that marked the official conclusion of Robert Mueller’s inquiry was at 8:26pm. That was when Junior retweeted a particularly malicious sounding tweet by Paul Sperry calling Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell “DEAD WRONG” in their assessments of Trump criminality. A few minutes before that, The White House pushed out a message about Trump’s get together with leaders of Caribbean nations. But the usual bluster and bunk, the expected gloating was absent.

Radio silence. It is eerie. Here’s how it looks.

22 March Last Tweets from Trumps:

Meanwhile, Lindsey Graham, who is babysitting Trump in Mar-A-Lago, sent a series of calm, non-partisan tweets at 6:43pm. Graham heads up the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee and promised transparency. Mitch McConnell released his statement ten minutes earlier. No mention of a witch hunt. Nothing about a hoax. Kudos to Mueller and the end of the inquiry, hat’s off to AG Barr. And off the top, a few incredibly ironic lines.

Many Republicans have long believed that Russia poses a significant threat to American interests. I hope the Special Counsel’s report will help inform and improve our efforts to protect our democracy.

Many Americans wonder why McConnell stood in the way of President Obama’s warning about Russia’s threat to our democracy.

Tomorrow is here. What comes next?

Banned From Twitter

On 9 March 2019, I was banned from Twitter for a single tweet that criticized Donald Trump.

I have joined the gaslit nation, one of the many portrayed unfairly and silenced unilaterally by Twitter.
